Brenda Hunter, former executive director of Conejo Valley Neighborhood for Learning, will sign copies of her first book, “Sacred Mothering,” after the 10 a.m. service Sun., Dec. 3 at the Pleasant Valley Center for Spiritual Living in Camarillo.
The self-published book is a collection of short stories about the parent child relationship with photographs by Hunter’s son Ryan.
Following her nine-year stint as executive director of the Neighborhood for Learning, Hunter began teaching at the Horizon Hills Parenting Program in Thousand Oaks, developing the Butterfly Center, which provides services for pregnant and newborn families. She’s also taught childbirth classes at Los Robles Hospital.
Any books sold Dec. 3 will benefit Center for Spiritual Living Pleasant Valley, 221 E. Daily Drive, Ste. 1, Camarillo.
A Conejo Valley resident since 1974, Hunter lives in Thousand Oaks with her husband, Chris.
